Title: Is it really “NEW” year?
Prepared by: Sheridon Gayle
As we approach this new calendar year, let us remember that it’s not just about the celebration of the fact that we’ve entered into another year, but also the fact that Jesus is coming again. We are literally one year closer to the appearance of Jesus Christ. The question is, what are you doing to prepare yourself for His coming? Well let’s face it, things will not get easier, the devil will not stop working overtime to destroy, kill, and steal.
The Bible mentioned, in Revelation 12:12, “Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
Revelation 12:12 KJV
The devil knows that His time is running out, and this is why evil is increasing in the land, this is why corruption is rampant, and sin is considered the norm. It is time for us to open our eyes to see that we need to be closer to God more than ever. How can we do this? The Bible says in James 4:7-8, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.”
James 4:7-8 KJV
It is time to draw near to God and resist the influence of this world; it is time to submit to God and tell Satan that He has no power over your life. It is time to stand for righteousness and be unashamed. It is time to pray even more than ever and spend more time in the Word of God.
Is it really “NEW” years? Well, let me put it this way: it’s time to walk in the newness of life with God.
Walk with God and boldness into 2026.
Bible verses for meditation:
“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
Revelation 12:9, 12 KJV

DEVOTIONAL #2

Devotional Thought: Set your mind on heaven
Prepared by: Sheridon Gayle
This is such a fascinating way to analyze our everyday lives. To walk with God is to put aside everything that is not of him. The affections of this world only apply to our feelings (flesh). The flesh only loves to feel good and satisfied. The Holy Spirit desires for man to walk this path of life with God, trusting in Him as the source of everything we want to become according to His will. The things of this world are materials all made by man, and God made man; therefore, all things are created by God. Remember who the ultimate leader of your life is. You cannot serve two masters; you can only love one and hate the other. In God, you find contentment, peace, joy, and fellowship. Set your focus on heavenly things and wait upon God to reveal unto you His guidance and love. (Col. 3:2)
Col 3:2
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

DEVOTIONAL #3

Devotional Thought: Vessels for God.
Prepared by: Sheridon Gayle
Remember, we are vessels created by God, for God to serve God and others in love and humility.
We are vessels passing through this world to be like Jesus and to walk uprightly wherever we go and whoever we encounter.
We do not belong to ourselves; God made it possible for us to be living souls and has given unto us all choices, opportunities, and resources.
As living souls, God requires us to be wholeheartedly obedient unto Him in worship and honor, following his word, submitting unto Him to overcome this world as Jesus Christ.
The Lord is interested in your story, so let Him be the director of your life.
